How College Video Tours Increase Enrollment by 30%

Video has been changing the way that we are entertained, informed and sold to for over one hundred years. It allows you to experience an event without having to actually be there and helps foster an emotional reaction to content. How do you respond to an ASPCA commercial, or when a sports team that you care about loses a big game? Video allows people to connect in a way that no other medium can do. And this is just one of the many reasons we love video, especially when it comes to recruiting prospective students.

But we aren’t the only ones that love video – today’s students love it, too. In fact, 75% of high school seniors watch video at least one week. To be where high school students are, you need to be producing engaging video content. So why wouldn’t you use video to communicate with them?

Showing prospective students what life is like at your college or university through the eyes of real students is the most effective way to help them feel like they’ll fit in. While there is a more data-driven side to a college choice, like admissions statistics and post-graduation employment rates, one of the most difficult things for a prospective student to evaluate is if they'll fit in on campus. And as the old adage goes, "facts tell, stories sell" -- and video is the ultimate storytelling medium.
